Study Notes from Class
- Students are encouraged to leave comments upon submission.
- Example comments:
- "This was really difficult."
- "I enjoyed this assignment."
- Comments must be appropriate.
- For questions after grading, prefer direct messages via Canvas or email due to lack of notifications from assignment messages.
Late Work Policy
- Late work is accepted, with specific deadlines.
- In this course, only one late work deadline exists: March 14.
- Assignments will not be locked until this deadline.
- Students are advised to stick to due dates to maintain pace in the course.
- Late submissions are permitted, but submissions should ideally not exceed one week past due dates.
- Quizzes and exams will remain open; no late point deductions will apply as they grade themselves.
- For critiques, art projects, lecture notes, and discussions:
- Late submissions may incur deductions, though leniency is offered.
- Excessive late submissions can create workload issues for grading and fairness to other students.
- Note on managing late submissions:
- Avoid submitting all assignments on the deadline date (March 14).
- Final grades depend on timely submissions to allow grading before official deadline (March 15).
Grade Calculation and Tracking Points
- To check your scores:
- Use total points as the primary metric (Canvas may show misleading percentages).
- Total points possible in the course is 900.
- For mid-semester calculations:
- Use points accumulated by that time divided by points possible at that time.
- Reach out for assistance if needed.
Attendance Policies
- Attendance is mandatory and taken during class periods.
- Missing classes can affect financial aid even if all work is submitted.
- Census Date: Students must attend or participate to avoid being flagged as never attending, which can complicate financial aid.
- Multiple absences can impact financial aid eligibility, regardless of the final grade obtained.
- Specific attendance policy reminders:
- Cross-check syllabus for details.
