Case Studies

DEFINTIOIN- In-depth study of a person/group of people over time (longitudinal)

  • They use multiple methods of data collection e.g. Observation, interview… = allows for range of qualitative + quantitative data

  • Case Studies are an example of the Idiographic approach (Idiographic vs Nomothetic)

  • Can’t be generalised as they don’t follow major features of science
