Public Talk - Jehovah Is Our Refuge - Br. Forde
Concept of Hammaboll (Heavenly Ocean)
The biblical reference to Hammaboll is found in 2 Peter 3:5-6 where it states that the earth was created out of water.
Hammaboll refers to a massive ocean created by Jehovah God that existed above the earth on the second creative day, according to Genesis.
This ocean was quantitatively vast, described as containing trillions of gallons of water miles above the earth's surface.
The Great Flood
Jehovah used Hammaboll to flood the earth during Noah's time, which took 40 days and 40 nights for the water to pour out.
The Flood resulted in the destruction of ungodly people at that time, while preserving Noah and his family in the ark.
Noah and his family stayed in the ark for 370 days (approximately 13 months) until the waters receded.
Geological Changes Post-Flood
The immense weight of the water from Hammaboll reshaped the earth’s surface, creating ocean basins, seas, and mountain ranges.
Notable mountain ranges arose such as the Alps, Rockies, Andes, and Himalayas as the dry land was uplifted.
Destruction of the Ungodly
According to 2 Peter 3:7, God reserves the current heavens and earth for fire, awaiting the day of judgment for ungodly people.
God’s techniques for destruction include internal strife among enemies, pestilence, and natural catastrophes (Ezekiel 38:21-22).
Historical Collapses in Warfare
The term “fragging” illustrates a situation where soldiers turn against their own, often driven by a sense of hopelessness in warfare.
A biblical example is provided from 2 Chronicles 20, highlighting how God caused nations to turn against each other in conflict against Judah.
Natural Disasters
Ezekiel 28:22 discusses the use of pestilences and weather phenomena like hailstorms as tools for divine retribution.
Hailstorms in particular demonstrate God’s power, with descriptions of enormous hailstones capable of inflicting massive damage.
Final Judgment and Armageddon
Jesus Christ with his angels will execute judgment on the ungodly during Armageddon, demonstrating the power of divine forces against human weaponry.
Noah's Example of Survival
As described in Genesis 6, Noah was characterized as a righteous man who walked with God, remaining faithful amidst a corrupt society.
He exemplified obedience to God's instructions, building the ark despite societal disbelief and skepticism about impending calamity.
Obedience and Faith
Hebrews 11:7 illustrates Noah’s faith in God’s warnings, signifying that obedience requires listening and acting in accordance with God’s directives.
Obedience to Jehovah is essential today, especially during trials like the COVID-19 pandemic, where instructions may seem contrary but ultimately lead to protection and survival.
The Importance of Preaching
Noah’s role as a preacher of righteousness underlines the significance of evangelical work in demonstrating love for Jehovah.
Emphasizes active participation in preaching as a measure of one’s devotion and faith in God's sovereignty.
The New System
Post-flood, Noah is portrayed as grateful and worshipful, highlighting the importance of praise and reverence towards Jehovah.
Looking forward to a new world characterized by righteousness, devoid of suffering and death, where faithful individuals can thrive.
Survival in Today's World
Believers are encouraged to view the current world with caution, similar to navigating a dangerous jungle.
Faithful adherence to Jehovah's guidance and avoidance of harmful influences is depicted as crucial for survival and eventual entry into the promised new system.
