Definition: the branch of science which focuses on the chemical and physico-chemical processes and substances that occur within living organisms

Importance of Biochemistry (nursing) - aids in understanding how the human body works in both normal and abnormal states. Processes such as metabolism (where all chemical reactions take place in the body) are important to understand and administering medications can affect a persons biochemistry.
