Discussion Updates and In-Class Group Activity Guidelines

Discussion Due Date and Program Opportunities

  • Chapter 1 Discussion Due Date Adjustment:

    • The submission deadline for the Chapter 1 discussion has been extended.
    • This adjustment was made because several students were transferring between course sections after Chapter 1 and were unable to complete the assignment on time.
  • Program Opportunities and Eligibility Criteria:

    • Early activities begin prior to the end of the current class, but the primary program takes place during the upcoming spring and summer.
    • Eligibility Requirement: A minimum GPA of 3.03.0 is required to participate.
    • The organization provides an ongoing platform and returns annually for recruitment.
    • The organization operates in the insurance industry, processes large volumes of information, and recruits extensively for policy and business positions.

In-Class Group Activity Guidelines

  • Group Size Requirements:

    • Students are required to organize into groups containing a minimum of 44 people.
    • Students should move around the classroom as necessary to ensure everyone is placed in a group of at least 44 members.
  • Spatial Arrangement for Face-to-Face Interaction:

    • To facilitate effective communication, group members should turn around to face one another in a cluster rather than remaining seated in a single row of 44 people.
  • Temporary Nature of Activity Groups:

    • The groups established for this specific activity are temporary and do not constitute permanent project groups for the course.
