Recruitment Overview and Vacancy Details
- Position: Junior Resident (Non-PG) on Adhoc Basis.
- Total Number of Vacancies: Tentatively Thirty Five (35). The final number may vary according to actual requirements and available vacancies at the time of recruitment.
- Appointment Duration:
- Initially for a period of 44 days.
- Extendable up to a maximum of one (1) year.
- Extensions are contingent upon satisfactory work and conduct reports from the concerned Head of Department (HOD) and a written request from the doctor.
- Tenure terminates earlier if a regular appointment for Junior Resident is made.
- Jurisdiction of Dispute: In case of legal disputes, the jurisdiction is limited to the courts of Delhi/New Delhi only.
Eligibility Criteria for Junior Resident (Non-PG)
- Educational Qualifications:
- MBBS degree from a recognized University/Institute or an equivalent degree.
- Candidates must have passed the Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) examination if applicable.
- Internship Requirement:
- Completion of one (1) year of internship on or before 01.08.2025.
- This date must be within two (2) years before the date of the interview.
- Age Limits (Standard):
- General and EWS Candidates: 30 years.
- OBC Candidates: 33 years.
- SC/ST Candidates: 35 years.
- Age and Residency Relaxations (per Circular No. F.No. 121/26/2010/H&FW/OSHFW/1996-2045 dated 10.06.2011):
- If sufficient eligible candidates are not found, the maximum age limit shall be increased to 40 years for all categories.
- Candidates who have already completed one (1) year of Junior Residency may be allowed to appear as fresh candidates if fresh applicants are unavailable.
- Merit List Hierarchy for Relaxed Criteria:
1. A list of "fresh" candidates (those who haven't completed residency) is exhausted first.
2. A second merit list is prepared for those who have completed one (1) year of residency.
3. Appointments from the second list are for one (1) year only and are non-renewable.
- Prior Residency Restriction: Candidates who have already completed two (2) years of Junior Residency in any government hospital will not be considered for the interview.
- Registration: Valid Delhi Medical Council (DMC) registration is required. A DMC acknowledgment will be accepted for the interview, but the selected candidate will only be officially taken on strength upon providing the valid DMC certificate.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level-10 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
- Basic Pay: Rs. 56,100/− per month.
- Allowances: Other admissible allowances as per standard government rules.
- Leave Entitlements:
- Junior Residents are entitled to 221 days of leave for every completed calendar month.
- No other types of leave are granted, explicitly excluding LTC (Leave Travel Concession), Pensionary benefits, Group Insurance, Study Leave, and Child Care Leave.
- Maternity Exception: Maternity leave or miscarriage leave is granted to female Junior Residents in accordance with the provisions of the Maternity Benefits (Amendment) Act 2017.
Application and Interview Procedures
- Application Fee: There is no fee for appearing in the interview.
- Travel Allowance: No TA/DA (Travel Allowance/Dearness Allowance) shall be paid to candidates for attending the interview.

- Submissions must include self-attested photocopies of all required documents.

Contractual Terms and Restrictions
- Termination: The contract can be terminated by either the employer or the employee with ten (10) days of notice or salary in lieu of notice.
- Nature of Appointment: The selection is purely on a tenure basis and confers no right to regularization or permanent absorption into the hospital staff.
- Private Practice: Private practice of any kind is strictly prohibited during the tenure.
- NOC Policy: Selected candidates who join will not be issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for any purpose (passport, visa, etc.) until they have completed at least six (6) months of service.
- General Service Conditions: Governed by orders issued or endorsed by the Government of NCT of Delhi.
