The speaker went to Watercolor Seaside Rosemary or Alice Beach and then Rosemary Beach for Memorial Day week.
It was very crowded with families and kids.
Sixteen people stayed in one house.
The house had eight bedrooms and ten bathrooms and was worth 5,000,000.
Downstairs was a master bedroom, upstairs were three normal bedrooms and a bunk bedroom with two bunk beds.
The speaker slept in the bunk bedroom with her four and eight-year-old niece and nephew.
The third floor had four twin beds where the speaker's family slept.
The third floor was like a tree house with all windows.
The speaker felt too old for the situation and found it chaotic with screaming kids everywhere.
The speaker was not there to babysit and made that clear.
The speaker's uncle went to Hawaii with his kids and said never again.
The whole house was messy.
Dynamic Media and WebP/AVIF Files
The speaker went to Austin for two days.
The speaker has been reading documentation regarding dynamic media.
The on-prem dynamic media doesn't seem to include the original features they were looking for.
The speaker is trying to clarify things regarding the ability to enable WebP and AVIF files.
It seems like the delivery of those files is through AI capabilities in their cloud, which wouldn't benefit them having the community on-prem.
Amber wants WebP and preferably the ability to convert everything in the DAM to WebP.
She doesn't think it would give much benefit to only convert moving forward.
There are concerns about having both WebP and other file types like PNG.
Need to ask if they can convert pre-existing assets for imaging.
There is no documentation online for the on-prem dynamic media, just different tiers of it.
Another benefit they were told they would have was interactive stuff like hotspots on images and zooming.
Questioning if that will be an on-prem thing.
Questioning Dynamic Media on Premise
They feel like they're getting the runaround on the features.
They're being told they can do dynamic media on-prem, but the documentation is all for the cloud.
They were given a proposed table with on-prem and expired license information.
Want to ask them to justify a customer spending 180,000 on on-prem.
Questioning what they are getting for that price and want them to verbally sell it.
They haven't been doing any of the on-prem stuff.
Questioning why they would have the 75,000 implementation fee, especially if it's for the cloud.
Their original quote before the discount was on-prem with current sites in media library, add dynamic media for 135,000, and an implementation fee of 100,000, totaling 235,000.
That seems like the cloud pricing.
For staying on-prem and adding assets plus dynamic media would be 285,000.
They are going to email Joe and say they need to get answers to their questions before they can have a technical call.
They need to be straight up and say they only want on-prem.
Also, remove Adeline from all of this.
On-prem doesn't have any video benefit at all or YouTube integration, which they need (they use Brightcove for that).
The next step is to communicate with Joe that they need answers to their questions before jumping into the technical call.
Brand Folder and Potential Cloud Based DAM
Met with Macy about the brand folder binder stuff.
Macy is giving them the runaround of the features that those two products have and her timeline.
Macy is meeting with her reps to figure out what it has to offer.
Her ideal situation is for them to get that by the end of this year.
She hasn't had any talks about the cloud stuff yet but will present it to Julie and then Christine.
Their solution is all cloud-based (binder and brand folder).
Macy sent over her prompt statements and walked through the features of each.
If they end up going with this cloud-based DAM, they need to figure out who owns it.
Unsure if the creative operations team is the right owner of a company-wide DAM.
Binders interesting because they don't have a folder structure in the DAM; it's all through tags.
You have to know what to look for; you can save tags, and all the images under that tag group would show up, but there's no folder structure.
Macy wants to present this soon and send it to Christine afterward for the IT cloud conversation.
Unsure how that would work with the resistance for anything cloud now with IT.
It's not necessarily resistance for cloud; it's the migrating.
Meeting with Jennica, Macy, and Ashley next Wednesday to figure out ownership.
If their solution becomes the DAM, they need to ask about AEM integration.
They need to decide if they will keep their Adobe DAM or use whatever they pick.
It could be split DAMs, with one for chat.com and another for 10 news, or everything else would fall into a different DAM.
One of their problem statements was that Adobe doesn't integrate with Canva (direct competitors).
Binder and brand folder offer unlimited users, and they just pay for storage.
Currently, they pay for 300 licenses at 644 per license.
LOL as a customer doesn't exist anymore in America but does in Europe.
Mentioned that one of the reasons why they have their folder structure is because if a customer wants to import a product image into a new tab, it gives their folder structure.
She says that information is embedded into the link.
Intrigued by the fact that they offer unlimited users, so they don't have to pay for licensing.
If they end up approving it in October, they renew it and add on the line item from dynamic media on-prem for a three-year contract.
If they were to have their own DAM, that would give them time to think, but they would want their DAM to have what they want.
If they're going to buy a whole new cloud DAM, might as well spend the three years migrating.
Through the demos, all of those DAMs have the dynamic media features.
Asked Macy to ask them if they had any of that and if they supported the other file types they need as well as AEM integration.
Asked the brand folder people about Pin, and Macy said binder does integrate with Pin.
The tech docs team wants a centralized DAM as well, and the CSP could be a DAM, but that's their goal too.
They have reports and smart tagging for everything that you would want.
Nice to hear what their efforts have been, and she sent over her problem statement table.
They need the DAM to have mostly an external agency part.
Doctor's Appointments and Other Issues
Every single person on the team has a doctor's appointment today, and the speaker has another one tomorrow.
The speaker hit their out-of-pocket on January 9th of this year when they had a concussion to go to the ER, so all their doctor's appointments have been free.
Went to the eye doctor last week, and one of the frames was 600, and insurance gets them 20% off, but it was for just the frame, not the lens, so it would have been 800, which they can't afford.
Max is emphasizing the auditing stuff for deep dive, but no one really cares about it besides them.
Been talking to Megan, and she's trying to figure out how to manage getting it done.
Asked how she can help delegate maybe with other people on her team because that was feedback.
Come up with a schedule and put deadlines to it and get commitment in writing from her.
She still has to have a meeting to train other people to take on the task.
Hold strong on the don't republish or replace images for them.
Their app tells them when the doors are open, unlocked, and windows are open.
Driving a Kia Soul version of a Kia Soul that looks like a box.
Have a schedule for when things need to get done, and if needed, pull Megan in if it doesn't end up working out.
Asked her to invite them to that meeting just to see the training, what that's like.
Met with Cindy last week to figure out Chinese - archiving around 700 images last week.
Because there are so many folders in Chinese that are empty, they could probably archive what needs to be archived in like two weeks.
Brand people said that campaigns don't run for more than six months. If something's 2023, it doesn't need to be in the Chinese folder anymore.
Moving forward for images, if you start uploading to Chinese, just set the expiration date of like in six months this needs to be expired, and then it'll send an email to them or Cindy that they need to archive this.
That would be better for them to be proactive with like archiving stuff.
It's been a long process to reactivate things because there was one day that Excel file was corrupted, so it unpublished everything in SAT.
They have to do it in small batches for it not to mess with PIM.
Still not all done reactivating everything.
Haven't done that yet for video; Adeline found a way to do all of them at once.
It's the true activation thing, but there are only so many folders in video.
Make sure you don't do it like too much at a time, or else that could cause problems.
There's one person that does needed to do the rest of the EMSG Excel file (April).
She's going to target to get it done by the 13th of next week but hopefully sooner if she has time; if it isn't met, then have another conversation about it.
OPN/GPN Verification and Other Reports
Meeting with Wade and Sarah's team to have some way to verify OPN/GPN in the DAM and see if Wade could somehow send an automated report if GPN and OPNs aren't right.
Sarah mentioned that they probably do have that data somewhere of valid and verified OPNs and GPNs.
That would be beneficial for all of that work.
That's just to try to find some ways to have an analytics aspect of it because it would be nice to have things verified for them.
Sometimes engineers say an image isn't there, and it's because there was a mistake a year ago. We didn't know that it wasn't published.
The GPN or European is wrong, or there is an extra space.
Al is off this whole month to go to Jordan for PIM.
At least be like your GPS and your opinions are right.
Sarah said to just give us what you need, and we can try to figure it out for you.
Received an invitation from Joe to the Rangers game with free tickets to meet their executive vice president after all they've been through.
They told Jennica that if there are drinks involved, might as well go; no telling what I'm gonna say in front of the Adobe people.
They probably have a suite and free food, but unsure if they are allowed to accept tickets.
Joe said it would be a great time to relax and de-stress.
Priority Backlog and Folder Structure Migration
Trying to figure out what they need to be pushing to be in the priority backlog.
The priority backlog became too big, so it became a priority backlog for the priority backlog.
Trying to figure out what because they put everything on hold and removed the party backlog tag.
They need a tall for her to move things from old folder structure to the new folder structure.
Need her to copy the rendition code from the old folder structure for boards and paste it into the new folder structure because they need renditions.
If she moves over that rendition code to this new folder, they also need her to start moving/migrating images over as well.
It'll be a pretty long process because with the pin situation like you have to do kind of small chunks.
That's something that would be nice to have done, but they don't know if it's priority.
There's just so many things that can be prioritized, and now that they have five per application, that's gonna be between them, Jonathan, and Noelle.
Maybe every two weeks if they meet Monday or Wednesday afternoons, the four of them can go through and figure it out.
They don't really have insight into what their priority backlog things are.
Sprint priority sprint planning.
Set these up
They are only meeting five the three of them and each only can prioritize 5 tasks.

Other Team Changes and Problems
Stella moved teams to brand stuff.
Feeling paranoid because everyone on the team is sick.
Jonathan felt sick yesterday, so they need to go home.
There is a problem with the code that produces squished, warped thumbnails (renditions) for board shots. Investigate!
A fix to generic product images.
There's an image available on the product page, but it pulls the generic chip shot for that care on new products portal pages.
Further Clarification
Investigate a folder structure problem.
Folders in the DAM have only three images
Why do application regions have the same images?
Are they tied and different?
Are they authoring like this?
Is it for ordering resources?
Drafting a note for you look over.
Don't know when to send questions.
Maybe respond to his either the meeting invite or what are like, however you wanna respond and say, hey.
Let's see what the answers to the questions are to understand whether or not this stuff is even feasible for us to get to a technical conversation, and then we'll go from there
I will ask Jonathan to drive.
Need to start eating breakfast like a normal person.
