Project Phase One Design Notes

Project Overview
  • Currently in Phase One Design for the project.
  • Partial Design Documents (DD) have been set out, including:
    • Architectural
    • Structural
    • Civil
    • Mechanical
    • Electrical
    • Plumbing and Fire Sprinkler efforts are ongoing to complete documentation.
Access to Documents
  • All relevant documents are available in Procore under the documents tab.
  • Specific document to note: SRC Phase One DD progress set dated 04/14/25.
  • Additionally, there is a set of progress specifications available.
Master Specifications
  • The current specification set is being treated as a master spec for all buildings involved in the project.
  • There may be plans to break down these specifications into smaller documents for specific buildings in the future.
Design Review
  • Focus on defining space allocations for:
    • Boilers
    • IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame)
  • Importance of strategic placements of rooms and facilities to facilitate operational efficiency discussed.
  • Upcoming design development (DD) progress for the IL buildings scheduled for June 6.
  • Permit submission for the cottage and fitness building occurs on the same day as mentioned above.
Current Action Items
  • Richard is tasked with identifying any additional needs from consultants to ensure continued progress on the three buildings.
  • Specific future needs include identifying room sizes for operational spaces within the building design.
  • An action item will be created in Procore to track progress on identifying these needs.
Coordination among Teams
  • Regular communication is done to stay aligned with mechanical, electrical, and structural consultants.
  • Upcoming tasks include reviewing submitted mechanical and electrical designs and generating a list of questions for clarification by the end of the week.
Structural Needs and Coordination
  • Structural coordination needs are minimal, but ongoing collaboration with Richard’s team is essential.
  • Conversations regarding truss profiles to ensure proper depths and layouts are crucial for structural integrity.
  • Proposal to engage with a truss manufacturer early in the design process to prevent issues later on.
Big Picture Considerations
  • The importance of understanding truss layouts to avoid costly structural changes during construction discussed.
  • Special focus on the auditorium's design due to its large spans and potential impact on ceiling heights.
Conclusion of Meeting
  • The team is committed to improving coordination and collaboration ahead of upcoming deadlines.
  • A meeting with the preferred truss manufacturer will be organized to facilitate communication and gather necessary information for effective design decisions.
