Happines Levels 1 & 2
What it looks like:
Eating a favorite food (like a slice of pizza), buying a new gadget, scrolling through social media, or getting a rush of adrenaline.
The mechanism: It is driven by a quick hit of dopamine in the brain.
The downside: It is short-lived and shallow. The feeling fades the moment the stimulus is gone, which can lead to a "hedonic treadmill" where a person constantly needs more of the stimulus to feel happy again.
