authoritarian - emphasises on obedience, control and following rules without explanation

permissive - few rules or expectation, parents have a relaxed approach and children have freedom

authoritative - clear rules and boundaries and reasons for these are explained to children. parents listen to children and consider views

instinctive - strongly influenced by instinct or reacting to parents own upbringing

uninvolved - lack of responsiveness , lead to neglect

helicopter - heavily involved in all aspects of Childs life. this can be frustrating for the child and lead to a lack of independence in long term
