Add more details - The hints included are guidelines and the questions are not the only topics for which you need to take note of.  These are just guidelines to help you.  Don’t exclude information that you feel like might be important just because it isn’t on this page.

Hints for Taking Notes: (HINT: you should take notes on what you read….)

  • Diagrams are included to demonstrate important topics.  Please take note of the diagrams included and the information that they help demonstrate.

  • Vocabulary – If you run across a word that is defined, in italics, bolded or in the title of the chapter this is important to your understanding of the topic and you need to define the word or take note of the definition provided and seek understanding of the vocabulary

  • Processes Described – if a process is being described (i.e. how to find fossils of a certain age and the difficulties with this process) take note

  • Patterns in Development (i.e. how a hand develops and the pattern of bones) and relationship to evolutionary history

  • Fossil examples, their significance and their modern counterparts
