Energy enters from the sun and moves as a chemical energy transfers through food web exits as heat radiated into space. Most nutrients lead to detritus nutrient then cycle back to the primary producers.

Detritus: nonliving organic tater (dead leaves, plants, and animal remains, feces.)

-Energy cannot be recycled.

Sun→ producers→primary consumers (Herbivores) → secondary consumers (Carnivores)
