GAD and GEDSI

GAD- gender and development (FOCUSES ON GENDER BASED INEQUALITY)

  • it is an approach that prioritizes development planning and policy making (such as magna carta) that aims to empower women

  • Its purpose is to eliminate gender-based violence and discrimination as well as to ensure that men and women have equal opportunities.

GEDSI- Gender equality, Disability, and social inclusion (BROADER APPROACH SUCH AS GENDER ISSUES AND SOCIAL INCLUSION)

  • focuses on creating policies and programs to ensure no one is left behind

  • isnt only for gender but particularly marginalized groups as a whole such as PWEDS, ethnic minorities and economically disadvantages

  • aims to create an equal and inclusive environment for everyone, to destroy barriers

Both are connected yet different, however they both aim to ensure togetherness despite these differences.
