Simple Past

The simple past tense is used to describe actions that were completed in the past. It is formed by using the past form of a verb.

For regular verbs, this typically involves adding '-ed' to the base form (e.g., 'walk' becomes 'walked'). Irregular verbs, however, have unique past forms (e.g., 'go' becomes 'went'). Some example sentences include:

  • I visited my grandmother last weekend.

  • She studied for her exams yesterday.

  • They went to the beach last summer.
