Galatians 3

  1. Paul calls the Galatians ‘spell-bound morons’ in their unbiblical ways of thinking

    1. The Galatians tell Gentiles they must obey the law of Moses in order to receive the Holy Spirit

    2. Prizing works of the flesh over faith in Jesus

    3. The Galatians had suffered in the past for the sake of faith so Paul asks if that suffering was for nothing

  2. Paul asks if God delivers the Holy Spirit and miracles according to works of the law or faith?

    1. He has always given according to faith

  3. Take Abraham for example

    1. He believed in God and that belief was counted to his righteousness

    2. Therefore only those of similar faith are true sons of Abraham

    3. And God justifies the nations by faith as well

    4. “In you all nations shall be blessed”

    5. Anyone with the faith can be blessed through Abraham!! Not just the Jewish people

  4. The Law of Moses brings a curse for anyone who does not do them

    1. But it also says that no one is justified by their works

    2. The just shall live by faith

    3. And the law and faith don’t even run together as in order to be blessed by the law you MUST stick to it entirely

    4. Jesus redeems us from the law of the Old Testament!

    5. Inviting in Gentiles and and making so that we may received the blessing through faith

  5. The purpose of the law was to address the Jews transgressions until the seed of Abraham mentioned (Jesus), had arrived.

    1. The law was the standing ground for Israelites to use before the arrival of Jesus

    2. The law shows us our problem with sin and God’s standard, but Jesus sets us free

    3. Jesus is here and we no longer need these old grounds

  6. Everyone is equal under Jesus

    1. There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female; everyone is equal under Christ

    2. And if you are Christ’s then you are the seed of Abraham

    3. You can not be the seed of Abraham if you don’t believe in Christ (Jews)
