Figure of speech - is a word of phrase that has a meaning something different from its literal meaning.
Simile - an expressed comparison between two unlike objects of different classes, the comparison being made through the use of word like, as, similar to.
Metaphor - like the simile but without using the word like, as, similar to
Personification - attributing human traits toa n object.
Onomatopoeia - comployment of words whose sounds complement their meaning.
Metonomy - the employment of a term connected with an object to represent that object.
Synecdoche - the ise of a part of an object to stand as a whole
Antonomasia - the use of a famous person name to represent someone who resembles him.
Apostrophe - word addressed to a person whose absent as if present.
