Taxonomic Classification
Is a hierarchical system that's used for classifying organisms to the species level.
Its broadest classifications are the domain and kingdom and the most specific are the genus and species.

A group of organisms at any particular level in a classification.
In a plant taxonomy a division is equivalent to phylum.
A related group of genera comprise a family.
The oldest level of taxonomic classification is genus.
SCIENTIFIC NAME |
Are derived from the genus and species names in a system known Binomial Nomenclature (“bi” = two ; “nom” = name).
WHen species name appear in print, the genus is always capitalized and species name is not and if both names appear in italicized or underlined but not both.
Ex: Homo sapiens or Homo sapiens
