L3 PHYSICAL CHANGES

A physical change is a change in size, shape, form or state of matter in which the identity stays the same.

When thermal energy is added to a solid, the particles in the solid move faster and faster, and the temperature increases.

Particles are tightly compacted when it is solid
Particles are slightly away when it is liquid

Particles are separated when it is gas
Condensation occurs when the particles are moving slowly enough for attractive forces to pull the particles close together

Condensation is the process that occurs when a gas becomes a liquid
