History-Martin Luther

Martin Luther was the man who started the Reformation. He was born in Saxony, Germany in 1483.

Martin Luther wrote a 95 thesis to prove that the Sale of Indulgences was wrong and that the Catholic church was taking peoples money. The Catholic church punished him with excommunication and Luther had to arrange a fake kidnapping for his safety. Prince Fredrick of Saxony hid Martin Luther in Wartburg castle for a year.

Luther later married a former nun, Katharina Von Bora and had six children.
