Checkpoint 8 - Angle Relationships
Vertical Angles Angles on opposite sides of the intersection point of two lines - they are EQUAL!
Complementary Angles Two angles whose sum is 90 degrees
Supplementary Angles Two angles whose sum is 180 degrees
Corresponding Angles Angles that occupy the same position at two different intersections of the transversal - they are EQUAL!
Alternate Interior Angles Angles on the inside of the parallel lines and opposite sides of the transversal - they are EQUAL!
Alternate Exterior Angles Angles on the outside of the parallel lines and opposite sides of the transversal - they are EQUAL!
Consecutive Interior Angles (Same Side Interior) Angles on the inside of the parallel lines and same side of the transversal - they ADD TO 180!
Triangle Sum Theorem The three angles inside of a triangle add to 180 degrees
