Simple Distillation

To be able to separate a dissolved solid from a liquid and keep the liquid you need simple distillation.

Evaporate the liquid by heating. This turns the liquid into vapour. Condense the vapour back into a liquid by cooling

1. Heat the solution until it boils (example → bunsen burner)

2. The vapour rises up the glass tube

3. The vapour condenses as it passes through the condenser
