  • I can evaluate the ways in which the interstate highway systems, hartsfield-jackson international Airport , deepwater ports , and railraods interact to support the exchange of goods
  • I can describe how profit is an incentive for entrepreneurs

^^Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta International Airport^^

  • One of Georgia’s world famous airport
  • named after two important mayor of Atlanta: William Hartsfield and Maynard Jackson.
  • established in the 1930s
  • bring people all over the world
  • brings in tourist, provides jobs for people, and expands the economy of the Atlanta area
  • This airport is considered to be one of the busiest in the world

  • estimated that around 80,000 flights and 7 millions passangers pass through Hartfield - Jackson in one month
  • airport covers 120 acres of territory

  • been apart of Georgia’s history since the 1830s
  • Georgia was know for it’s railroads during the civil war
  • Atlanta was once known as “Terninus,” a term that came from the word “terminal”
  • still provides transportation and good for people
  • the two major rail lines CSX and Norfolk Southern provide for the transportation of goods
  • Amtrak runs passengers line through Georgia and to destinations like New york

  • railroads also provide jobs for working Georgians, as well as transportation

  • A series of roads that connects Georgia with other states
  • developed in 1930 and created in 1956 by President Dwight Eisenhower

makes traveling more efficient

  • 1200 miles of interstate
  • allows Georgians to travel quickly to other sates
  • also bring people in for tourism

  • can also import and export goods through the interstate
  • many small towns benefit from being near an interstate (increases jobs and the amount of money that is spent near you).

@@Deepwater ports@@

  • Georgia has two deepwater seaports which are savnnah and Brunswick
  • allows Georgians to import goods from other states/ countries as well as export goods
  • these ports produce around 1.8 billions dollars in income and create over 81,000 Jobs
  • savannah and Brunswick ports are close to the interstate and railroads allowing easy access (brought to these ports to be shipped over seas)
