Changing the subject
T= 3𝑥 + 2 - ‘T’ is the subject in this equation because it' sits by itself on one side
Complex rearranging
Move all the terms containing the subject to one side of the equation
Then factorise
Expanding brackets
Multiply the (immediate) outer number with the contents of the brackets
Double (or triple) brackets
Use one bracket to multiply the other bracket
(T) Choose 2 brackets and multiply them, then multiply the remaining brackets
Factorising quadratics
Make an X
Place 2 multiples of the 𝑥 value on the left side of the X
Place 2 multiples of the factor with no 𝑥’s on the right side
The top row are multiplied together and the bottom row are multiplied together
This should make the other factor when added together
The top row creates 1 bracket and the bottom the other
