Agreements: Treaties to limit nuclear missiles and reduce production rates.
Purpose:
Reduce the threat of nuclear war.
Calm public anxieties.
Reproachment with China
Policy: Establishing relations with communist China.
Motivations:
Economic: Access to the Chinese market for selling US products.
Political: Forming an alliance with China to appear more powerful.
