The organisms in the Kingdom Plantae are composed of eukaryotic cells. Plants are multicellular and exhibit tissue differentiation, where cells are organized into specialized tissues that serve specific functions. Tissue is defined as a group of cells that perform similar functions, and these tissues are interrelated and distributed in characteristic patterns throughout the plant body.

Development and Growth in Plants

The development of plants involves continuous groups of differentiated and specialized tissues that connect various sections of the plant, such as roots, stems, leaves, and sometimes flowers. This connection is crucial for normal growth and development, which relies on the distribution of essential materials like air, food, and other nutrients throughout the organism. Growth involves:

• Morphogenesis: acquisition of a specific shape during development.
• Differentiation: the process where cells with identical genetic makeup become specialized and distinct from each other and from the original cells they derived from.
