The Haber Process

The industrial process to make ammonia.

It takes nitrogen from the air and oxygen from (natural gas or the air).

The catalyst used is iron

Ones that does not get used are recycled

CONDITIONS

  • 200 atmospheres for pressure

  • 400-450 degree celsius for temperture

  • forms an alkaline solution in water

  • used in the production of nitric acid
