Airspeed Limits
Flight Levels Airspeed Limits:
FL290: Vmo 0.85 ( KCAS )
FL320: Vmo 0.885 ( KCAS )
FL440: Vmo 0.86 ( KCAS )
FL510: Vmo 0.85 ( KCAS )
Vmo Above and Below 8,000 ft:
Above 8,000 ft: 340 KCAS
Below 8,000 ft: 300 KCAS
Minimum Control Speeds:
Air (Vmca): 112 KCAS
Landing (Vmcl): 110 KCAS
Ground (Vmcg) at Sea Level: 107 KCAS
Ground (Vmcg) at 15,000 ft: 0.86 KCAS
Note: Vmcg decreases linearly at approximately 1 knot per 1,000 ft from sea level to 15,000 ft
Maneuvering Speed (Va):
Va: 206 KCAS
Turbulence Penetration Speed (Vb):
Vb: 270 KCAS / 0.80 MT above 10,000 ft
Vb: Tire speed 240 KCAS < 10,000 ft; 160 KCAS above 10,000 ft

Maximum Operating Altitudes:
General: 51,000 ft
Single Pack Operations: 48,000 ft
Internal Baggage Door open: above 40,000 ft for 5 minutes
With one ECS pack, no entry above 45,000 ft
Yaw Damper Inoperative Limitations:
Maximum > 10,000 ft: 260 KCAS / 0.80

APU Limitations
APU Operating Altitude:
Maximum: 45,000 ft
Guaranteed Start Altitude: 39,000 ft (may start up to 43,000 ft)
Electrical Load:
100% Sea level up to 45,000 ft
Note: APU may assist with engine airstarts below 30,000 ft, with a max altitude of 25,000 ft for such starts
APU Starter Limitations:
Continuous operation power limit: 3 consecutive start attempts followed by 1 hour of cooldown
External DC power source operation: max 3 start attempts with 15 minutes cooldown between
Maximum of 6 successful consecutive starts allowed within 10 minute intervals per start
Anti-Icing System
Cowl Anti-Ice Activation:
When SAT is 10° C or below and moisture is present
Wing Anti-Ice Activation:
When icing conditions are imminent or detected immediately
Engine Limitations
Fuel Temperature:
Maximum: 140°C
Minimum: -40°C
Fuel temperature of up to 165°C permissible for a max of 15 minutes

Fuel System Limitations
Boost Pumps Requirement:
All operable boost pumps must be ON during all flight phases unless fuel balancing is in progress
Caution: Engines will only run on suction fuel feed at or below 20,000 ft; above this altitude, erratic operation can occur unless crossflow is open with at least one boost pump on
Flaps Limitations
Flap Extending Speeds:
10°: 250 KCAS / 0.60 MT
20°: 220 KCAS / 0.60 MT
39°: 170 KCAS / 0.60 MT
Speed Brakes Limitations:
Not allowed with landing gear extended and/or full flaps
Icing Conditions Use:
Use limited to Takeoff, Approach, and Landing phases
Ground Spoilers
Inop Ground Spoilers Conditions:
Allowed if anti-skid is operative and 20° flaps are used, without cowl and wing anti-ice systems active
For touch-and-go context: Ground Spoilers switch must be OFF and manual spoiler landing distances must be considered
Electrical Limitations
HMG Operation:
When in operation, speed brakes may be used, but operation must be slow (approximately 3 seconds for full range movement)
Do not operate HMG when normal AC power is available, except during L or R ESS DC Bus Failure
Pressurization Limitations
Maximum Cabin Pressure Differential:
10.48 PSID
Taxiing/Takeoff/Landing Differential:
0.3 PSID
Static Ground Run Limitations
Static Operation:
Stabilized operation between 66% and 80% LP RPM fan speed is prohibited; any acceleration or deceleration through this band must not exceed 10 seconds and must apply to forward thrust only
Takeoff and Landing Limitations
Takeoff in Alt Control mode:
Prohibited
Crosswind Takeoff Limitations:
With crosswinds above 20 knots, fan speed must be below 66% LP RPM until reaching a forward speed of 20 knots
Add 600 ft. to required field length when using this procedure
Maximum Demonstrated Crosswind Component:
Takeoff and Landing:
28 knots demonstrated for both with tiller steering; operation above 60 KCAS is not recommended
Single Engine Operations
Single Engine Inoperative TCAS Settings:
Select TA only as TCAS operating inoperative
Autopilot and Auto Throttle Limitations
Autopilot Activation:
Minimum engage height: 200 ft AGL on takeoff
Minimum disengage height: 60 ft AGL for ILS/MLS/LPV Approach and 50 ft below MDA/DA for LNAV/VNAV approaches
Minimum demonstrated altitude loss for coupled go-around: 60 ft
Auto Throttle Availability:
Available from Takeoff to Landing, except during single-engine approach
