Covers 40% of Brazil’s total area and is the worlds largest rainforest at 6 million km²

1.4 billion acres of dense forest, half of the remaining tropical forests

3977 mile 3977-mile-long Amazon River, the second largest river in the world

-2.6 million square miles in the Amazon basin, around 40% of South America
