Plant diversity
Differences Between Bryophytes and Pteridophytes
Bryophytes:
Non-vascular plants (lack specialized tissue for water and nutrient transport).
Reproduce via spores and do not produce seeds.
Examples include mosses and liverworts.
Typically found in moist environments; have a dominant gametophyte stage.
Pteridophytes:
Vascular plants (possess specialized tissue for transporting water and nutrients).
Also reproduce via spores but can have more complex life cycles.
Examples include ferns and horsetails.
Adapted to a wider variety of habitats, often have a dominant sporophyte stage.
