Chemistry:

Independent Variable - CHANGED or CONTROLLED

Dependent Variable - MEASURED

Molecule - any group of atoms bonded together (For molecule look for the word ATOMS)

key difference: A molecule CANNOT contain more than one type of element, if it does, it is a compound

Compound - molecule made of more than one type of element

Biomolecules:

1. Carbohydrates - CHO (major elements found in the biomolecules)

2. Lipids - CHON

3. Protein - CHON

4. Nucleic Acids - CHONP

Macromolecules

Triglycerides - The most abundant fat in the human body

hydrogen bond is weak (weak bond between a slightly negative hydrogen atom and 2 slightly positive oxygen atoms)

Ions are only created when it gains or loses electrons

Enzymes are biological catalysts

positive ions are acidic

negative ions are base

Biology - study of life

Ecology - NOT the study of life, IS the study of how life interacts with life and how life interacts with non-living things.
