Sensory Memory
First store - where information from senses is first held and processed
Attention - information is only passed onto STM if encoded through paying attention to the information
Decent capacity - has a decent sized capacity, as it allows us to have a lot of sensory input all at once
Short duration - has a very short duration of only a second or two before info is forgotten if attention isn’t given
Subconscious - most information stored here is held subconsciously then forgotten almost immediately
The sensory memory is a very temporary holding place for incoming information, with enough capacity for awareness, a short duration and attention to be paid.
