Definition

• Anything that has mass and takes up space

• Any substance that is made up of particles and has volume

Particular Theory Of Matter

• All matter is made of particles

• Particles are in a constant random motion

• There are spaces between particles

• There are forces of attraction between the particles

Matter can be in 4 physical states:

• Solid

• liquid

• Gases

• Plasma

The state of matter is affected by the amount of heat energy applied to the particles. This change in heat energy is called TEMPERATURE.
