NUX VOMICA

Overview

  • Nux vomica is a tree from which the seed is used to make medicine.

  • It contains:
      - Strychnine
      - Brucine

  • Proposed uses include erectile dysfunction (ED), swelling of the stomach, constipation, anxiety, migraine, and others, but lacks strong scientific evidence.

  • Associated health hazards:
      - Nux vomica is unsafe due to its toxic chemical content; small amounts of strychnine can build up in the body and cause serious health issues, especially in those with liver disease.
      - Symptoms of poisoning can include convulsions and death.

Effects

  • How it works:
      - Affects the brain and initiates muscle contractions, which can lead to convulsions.
      - Safe usage is not guaranteed even in small doses, as these can accumulate in the body.

NUX VOMICA SYMPTOMS
Personality Traits

  • Ambitious and efficient, dislikes tardiness.

  • Competitive and perfectionistic with high work ethics.

  • Hypersensitive, often irritable, possible aggressive behavior.

General Symptoms

  • Cold sensitivity; discomfort due to cold air, drafts, or air conditioning.

  • Reverse peristalsis causing difficulty in stool and urine passage.

  • Aggravated by:
      - Morning awakenings (3-4 am)
      - Dry weather
      - Eating, stimulants
      - Mental overexertion

  • Relieved by:
      - Warmth, wet weather
      - Naps

Physical Symptoms

  • Bowel irregularities: constipation or diarrhea with urgency.

  • Headaches and migraines worsened by alcohol and emotional stresses.

PODOPHYLLUM PELTATUM

  • Also known as Mayapple, Ground Lemon, Wild Mandrake.

  • Family: Berberidaceae

  • Strongly affects gastrointestinal organs, liver, gallbladder, and female reproductive organs.

Personality Traits

  • Sociable, affectionate, jovial, and prone to impulsive behavior.

  • Critical of deceit; seeks truth and justice.

  • Shows signs of irritation and anxiety regarding family well-being.

General Symptoms

  • Complaints of headaches that change along with bowel habits.

  • Thirst for large amounts of cold water exacerbated by heat.

  • Modalities include increased symptoms during early mornings and when consuming sour/acidic foods.

CINA MARITIMA

Overview

  • Common name: Levant Wormseed or European Wormwood.

  • Family: Asteraceae/Compositae

Key Symptoms

  • Teeth grinding (bruxism), irritability, insomnia, touch aversion, and frequent nose rubbing.

  • Behavioral issues prevalent in children, which may include ADHD tendencies.

General Mind Symptoms

  • Extreme restlessness; irritable upon reprimanding.

  • Tends to react violently when angry.

  • Often involved in self-harming behaviors (e.g., picking at one's nose).

General Physical Symptoms

  • Gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, vomiting, and colics triggered by cough.

  • Presence of worms in stools characterized by whitish coloration.

  • Frequent coughing fits with difficulty breathing exacerbated by activity or seasonal changes.
