Tawhid

  • “He is God the one God the eternal. He begot no one nor was he begotten. Nobody is comparable to him”

Nature of God

Omnipotent

  • …He who is the All-knowing, the All-Powerful, able to do anything.

Omniscient

    • to avoid sin

Merciful

  • In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, The Most Compassionate

Immanent

  • he is with you wherever you are

  • he is closer to you than your jugular vein

  • god is with us and close to humanity, cares for us

Transcendant

  • No vision can grasp Him… He is above all comprehension/vision percieves him not but he percieves all vision

angels

  • no free will!!

holy books

  • Qur’an is the divine word of God

    • This is the scripture in which there is no doubt, containing guidance for those who are mindful of God

      • will not commit shirk as is a grave sin and qur’an has said this

      • stop then from doing bad deeds as qur’an gives punishment for this - life for life etc

      • abide by its teachings bc it shows how to live a life that is pleasing to god

tawrat

  • revealed to moses

  • ‘Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light.’

    • Infallible so it is reliable and contains everything about Islam
