Outsourcing, Offshoring and Exam Timing

Outsourcing

  • Relocating a company outside of the country for better profitability.
  • Example: Chloe starts a company and moves it to South Africa for better profits.
  • The entire "node" (company) moves, sourcing out jobs and products.

Offshoring

  • Moving a single job across international lines to another place, often to reduce labor costs.
  • Example: Melanie calls a service line and someone from India answers.
  • Only the job moves, not the entire company.

  • Offshoring: Just a single job moves.
