  • IM- intramuscular

  • IV- intravenous

  • IVI- intravenous infusion

  • PO- oral

  • PR- per rectum

  • PV- per vagina

  • SC- subcutaneous

  • SL- sublingual

abbrecvations of how frequently administered:

  • B.D- twice a day

  • T.D.S- three times a day

  • Q.D.S- four times a day

  • STAT- one off/ immediate

  • O.D- once daily

  • NOCTE- at night

  • P.R.N- as required
