Differences between the 2011 census and the 2021 census
The median age has increased by 2 years to 38 years of age, this is lower than the english average of 41 years
Ages 20-24 decreased from 7.2% to 5.7%, 25-34 decreased from 15.6% to 14.8% whilst 50-64 increased from 16.9% to 18.1% and 65-74 increased from 7.2% to 8.8%
Ipswich had the joint largest percentage fall in the proportion of people aged >16 who were unemployed
Peoples health increased with people describing their health as very good at 43.4% an increase from 42.3%. people describing their health as bad fell from 4.5% to 4.3% - however this may have been affected by COVID-19
People who identified as a British only identity rise from 14.5% to 50.5% whilst English only identify fell from 65.4% to 16.9%
2.7% people were born in Romania, rising from 0.2%. English born civilians fell from 86.4% to 80.9%
There was an increase in the amount of people who do not provide unpaid care going from 88.7% to 91%, whereas a slight increase from 20-49 hours of unpaid work from 1.5% to 1.9%
More people reported having no religion, 35% to 45.3% whereas christianity fell from 52.1% to 42.2%
The percentage of people who never married rose from 37% to 40.2%, married or in a registered civil relationship fell from 43.7% to 41.3% which might have influenced the increase of divorced partnerships rising from 9.9% to 10.4%
There was a fall in white ethnic groups going from 88.9% to 84.3% whereas asian, black, mixed and other ethnic groups all rose by around 1%
