About the WSH Awards for Supervisors

  • Recognition for supervisors who enhance safety and health in the workplace.

Criteria for Award Qualification

  • Qualifying Period: 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024

  • Minimum Conditions:

    1. No workplace accidents resulting in death or permanent disablement.

    2. No breaches of workplace safety regulations under the nominated supervisor’s oversight:

      • Includes various offences leading to sanctions like Stop Work Orders or fines.

    3. Commitment to:

      • Worker care and support.

      • Improving company's safety performance.

      • Enhancing worker well-being.

    4. Supervisor must be a Singaporean, PR, S Pass or Work Permit holder.

    5. Minimum of two years in supervisory role overseeing 5 workers.

    6. Not a managerial role but rather junior supervisory.

    7. Completion of at least one WSH course at the supervisory level in the qualifying period.

    8. Not previously awarded in the last five years.

  • Note: Separate applications for multiple nominees, and WSH Officers should apply for different awards.

Evaluation Process

  • Applications evaluated by respective industry associations, and non-specific applications by WSH Council.

  • Associations Include:

    • ASMI

    • CDAS

    • SMF

    • SCAL

  • Shortlisted supervisors attend interviews with judges.

Disqualification Conditions

  • Applications can be disqualified for:

    • Workplace accidents prior to results announcement.

    • Inaccurate or misleading documents.

    • Withdrawal or amendment of reports or claims during application.

Application Process

  • Preparation:

    • Verify eligibility; prepare details and documents covering:

      • Company and Supervisor’s Details

      • Evidence-Based Assessment

      • WSH Training courses attended.

  • Submission: Uploading parts via OneDrive, link expiry noted.

Important Dates

  • Qualifying Period: 1 January 2024 – 31 December 2024

  • Application Deadline: 1 April 2025, link expires at 6pm.

  • Awards Ceremony: September 2025.

Part 1: Company’s Details

  • Required details include company name, UEN, address, SSIC Code, industry type, and primary activity.

  • Specify association for evaluation routing and SME status.

Part 2: Supervisor’s Details

  • Collect supervisor's information:

    • Name, employment dates, job duties, number of workers supervised, prior applications history.

Part 3: Evidence-Based Assessment

  • Written Application (Max 5 pages):

    • Format: Arial, size 11, 1.5 spacing.

    • Address worker safety commitment, environmental safety measures, communication methods, and demonstrated good practices.

    • Include supervisor's contributions and achievements over three years.

    • Justification for award nomination.

  • Video Introduction:

    • Short video (max 2 minutes) introducing the supervisor, highlighting safety leadership and achievements, and motivation for applying.

    • Submit video hyperlink via application.

Part 4: WSH Training Courses

  • Complete evidence of safety training attended in the qualifying period, listing at least one supervisor-level course.

Terms and Conditions

  • Applicants must submit complete application by deadline.

  • No late or incomplete applications accepted.

  • Consent to share details with relevant parties.

  • Notification of results via email by end August 2025.
