  • Defined as the sharpness of an image.

  • Determined by the number of pixels an image holds.

Color and Pixelation:

  • All pixels contribute to the image.

  • High pixel density results in clear, high-resolution images with accurate colors.

Image Creation Methods:

image is created in two ways:

  • Bitmaps and Vector-drawn graphics.

Color Creation in Media:

  • Combines colored media like paints/inks.

Absorption Process:

  • Colored media absorbs parts of light spectrum and reflects others.

Printing Process:

  • Utilizes halftone dots of cyan, magenta, and yellow (CMY).

Definition:

  • Adjusts color values of pixels to create to the closest matching color value in the target palette.

Purpose:

ØDithering is the process by which we create illusions of the color that are not present actually. It is done by the random arrangement of pixels.

  • Creates color illusions that aren’t present, using pixel arrangements.

Implementation:

  • Achieved through mathematical algorithms.

Function of Dithering:

  • Approximate unavailable colors by mixing existing ones, especially under 256 color conditions.
