Course structure and schedule

- Be mindful of leaving the gradebook unchecked; professional communication can help resolve concerns.
Observations and fieldwork
- Observation folder is essential and will be used repeatedly; all observations require a background check and fingerprints.
- Choose a district (e.g., McCracken) and stay with it; background checks cannot be shared across districts.
- Begin exploring observation options early this week.
Career planning and programs
- ACT score considerations affect course placement and readiness.
- Many students pursue the two-plus-two pathway with Paducah Murray State campus; plan to maximize benefits of local coursework before student teaching.
Technology and assignments
- Bring a laptop; have a notebook or binder to organize materials.
- Access free software via MS 365; save work to OneDrive to avoid data loss; cloud storage enables access from any device.
- Mac users may need to convert documents to Word or PDF for submissions.
- Typical submission formats are Word (.doc/.docx) or PDF; Chrome is recommended.
- Trial submission activity: create a Word document with name, address, phone, date, and adviser’s name; submit via the trial submission box to test setup and attendance.
Course policies and integrity
