Activity 1: Molecular Match-Up
An interactive game where participants pair up cards representing molecules with their corresponding structures and functions, blending teamwork and science.
Materials:
Index cards (pre-made with molecule names on one set and structure/function on the other)

Steps:
(2 min) Divide participants into teams of two.
(5 min) Distribute the index cards, each student receives 3 cards from the ‘Molecule Name’ set and 3 from the ‘Structure/Function’ set without revealing them.
(7 min) Teams will hustle to match their molecules with the correct structure/functions, encouraging collaboration and humorous attempts at remembering what each one does.
(4 min) The team that correctly matches all their cards first will share a funny or interesting fact they learned about one of the molecules during the process.
(2 min) Conclude with a brief science recap of the importance of molecular interactions.

Activity 2: Fusion or Fission? The Power Choice

Steps:
(3 min) Introduce the concepts of fission and fusion in a humorous way (e.g., personifying atoms discussing their ‘relationship’).
(5 min) Split participants into two teams: pro-fusion and pro-fission, each team brainstorms for 2 minutes their main arguments and jokes about their chosen process.
(6 min) Teams present their debates, infusing humor and creativity (e.g., ‘If Fission were a superhero, what would its superpower be?’).
(5 min) After both teams have presented, allow participants to vote on which side presented the best arguments and humor, followed by a discussion on the energy changes during both processes.

Activity 3: DNA Dessert Debate
A creative mix of biology and culinary fun where participants create dessert representations of DNA structures, discussing how DNA determines the structure of proteins.

Steps:
(5 min) Each participant receives an assortment of candies and is tasked with constructing a ‘DNA strand’ while explaining how DNA influences protein structures.
(10 min) Everyone presents their ‘dessert DNA’ while explaining the relationship between DNA and protein functions in life processes; humor encouraged (e.g., compare protein functions to dessert flavors).
(5 min) To finish, participants can take a bite of their creations while reflecting on the importance of DNA in life science.
