Distillation - Core Practical
- Pour sample into conical flask
- Run cold water through condenser to keep it cool
- Gradually heat the conical flask with a bunsen burner - the water will evaporate due to the fact that it usually has the lower boiling point
- The water vapour will pass through the condenser, which will cool it enough for it to become a liquid again
- The water will now flow into a test tube/beaker, leaving the other substance in the conical flask on its own
