DSAT-Guide to apostrophes

Requirements for apostrophes

-Plural nouns do not require an apostrophe.

-Example: The plants look green today.

-Singular possessive nouns require an apostrophe

-Example: Serena Van Der Woodsen’s hair looked damaged and tangled after Season 1 of Gossipl Girl.

-this rule also applies if the singular possessive noun ends with an s

Plural possessive nouns require apostrophes if they end with an s. (If the plural noun doesn’t already end with an s the apostrophe comes before the s you need to add). If the pluralnoun already has an s, the apostrophe comes after the s.
