HYPOTHALAMUS
located just above the pituitary gland and the size of an almond
main function- control pituitary gland and hormonal and neural stimulation
which allows for functions like
control brain stem and spinal cord
center of emotional response
body temperature regulation
regulation of food intake
controls thirst
regulates sleep and wake cycles
THYMUS
located near the sternum
produces thymopoietin, thymic factor, and thyroxin, which is involved in the development of the immune system.
