Romans 3

  1. Advantages of the Jewish People

    1. He trusted them with oracles of God to speak God’s truth before Jesus (David, Daniel, Ezekiel)

  2. God’s Constance

    1. But if they did not believe, that has no effect on God’s truth

    2. God is Lord with or without their belief

    3. “God is true but every man is a liar”

    4. If man’s unrighteousness displays God’s righteousness, does that mean God’s wrath is unjust?

      1. No! If that were the case, then how would God judge us?

      2. If lying helped spread God’s message, how are we still judged as sinners?

      3. Why not just say let’s all do evil so God’s will can be shown?

      4. Those who say that are justified in their condemnation.

  3. Are Jews Better than Gentiles?

    1. No! All of humanity is trapped under sin

    2. No one is righteous and we are all sinful creatures who have turned away from God

    3. The law reinforces the idea that we are all guilty before God

    4. No works can justify or save us

  4. Jesus Saves!

    1. God has shown us a righteousness outside the law in Jesus

    2. This righteousness does not come from the law but from Jesus to all who believe.

      1. What Jewish people do not have today

    3. All need the salvation that is only provided through the Jesus

    4. God provided Jesus as a way to satisfy the debt we all owed with our lives through is blood

    5. Jesus paid with his life the price that our sin owed

    6. So there is no boasting that we’re saved because it is not by our works that we are, but by Jesus’ sacrifice.

    7. And this sacrifice applies to both Jew and Gentile! It is free grace and salvation for everyone

    8. Do we make the law void?

      1. No! We establish it!
