Creative Collaboration Carnival

Activity 1: Design a Dream Invention

Participants will work in teams to create an imaginative invention that solves a humorous everyday problem and present it to the group.

Steps:

  • (3 min) Divide participants into teams of 5-6 and distribute large sheets of paper and markers.
  • (5 min) Each team brainstorms a quirky problem (e.g., 'How to make broccoli taste like chocolate') and designs an invention to solve it.
  • (5 min) Teams sketch their invention and outline how it works using funny features or science fiction themes.
  • (7 min) Teams present their inventions with humorous pitches to the entire group, encouraging laughter and creativity.
  • (5 min) Participants vote for the wackiest invention using stickers or applause.

Objectives:
Encourage teamwork, creativity, and application of design ideas while fostering laughter and shared bonding through absurd inventions.

Activity 2: Funny Talent Show and Tell

Participants will showcase their unique talents or share a funny story, promoting camaraderie and connection.

Steps:

  • (5 min) Explain the format: each participant has 1 minute to either demonstrate a talent or share a comedic story.
  • (10 min) Participants take turns performing, with the audience encouraged to cheer and laugh together, fostering a sense of joy.
  • (5 min) End with a group skit or dance led by the teacher, integrating humor and silliness for all.

Objectives:
Build interpersonal connections through humor and personal sharing, making everyone feel included.

Activity 3: Mystery Box Challenge: Creative Construction

Teams will build a structure using mystery materials, adding a hilarious twist in the design process.

Steps:

  • (3 min) Provide each team with a box containing random craft materials (like straws, tape, cardboard, etc.).
  • (5 min) Explain the challenge: build the tallest or most creative structure only using those materials with some entertaining rules (e.g., must incorporate a silly hat or a funny phrase into their design).
  • (7 min) Participants construct their structures while sharing funny anecdotes related to their building experience.
  • (5 min) Each group presents their creation, explaining the humor behind their design decisions.

Objectives:
Encourage creative thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving in a fun, engaging manner, while meeting design criteria.
