Geography Tools

  • Maps and Globes (Cartographs): Created representations of the world for navigation and information.

    • Globe: A spherical replica of the Earth.

    • Map: A flat representation tailored for a specific purpose, showing roads, buildings, boundaries, agriculture, industry, points of interest, geographic features.

Understanding Compass Directions

  • Essential for map navigation.

  • Main directions: North, South, East, West.

Map Symbols and Key

  • Map Key/Legend: Explains the colors, symbols, and information on the map.

Kinds of Maps
