  • Constantine is the son of Constantius who was part of the Roman military 
  • Constantine is appointed Caser in 306 CE when his father dies and is given control of Britain, Gaul, and Spain
  • Constantine wins control of the western empire in 312 CE and the east in 324 CE
  • Constantine decides to move the capital of the empire to Byzantium which her renames to constantinople 
  • Constantine converts to christianity and begins to removes visages of roman gods and assimilate them to christian beliefs
