Deep - farthest from surface of the skin
Superficial - closest to surface of the skin
Flexion - decreasing angle of joint
Extension - increasing angle of joint
Adduction - motion toward midline
Abduction - motion away from midline
Prone - lying face down
Supine - lying face up
