→ If favour shifts, it often happens in the mid-terms (House will shift first, then Senate, and finally president)

→ 1/3 of Senate seats are given up

→ All of House is re-elected (435)

  1. What is unusual about the Trump governments approach to the midterms?

→ Re-districting has become public

→ Reforms through being pushed to have less Democrat voters

  1. Why do you think partisan gerrymandering is relatively rare? What changed in 2026?

→ Rare because retaliation could occur

→ Democrat - decentralised / no key leader so gerrymandering could occur more because lack of responsibility

→ Restricted to every 10-years and relied on census results
